Korean Writing Day 한글날 is celebrated in Korea on October 9th.
On October 7, at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, the Center for Korean Studies of Ablai khan KazUIR&WL held an event dedicated to this date. At the event, the welcoming speech made by the dean of the faculty Ph.D. Kagazbayeva E.M. and Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor of the Department of Eastern Languages Pak N.S.
In the official part of the event, the organizers introduced the students to the activities of the Center for Korean Studies, awarded small gifts to students who successfully passed TOPIK, announced the results of recruitment to the club of volunteers of the Center for Korean Studies.
Then we conducted QUIZ on knowledge of facts about the Korean language and culture for students of 1-2, 3-4 courses.
The students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies prepared a small concert program.
After the official part, students of the 3rd and 4th courses of the Faculty of Oriental Studies took part in the competition for preparing Korean dishes, kimbap and teokbokki, which are popular among young people. Students had a fun and useful time preparing their favorite dishes.
All participants did their best, showed creativity and creative approach. As a result, the winners were announced in the following categories:
- The most delicious kimbap
- The most delicious teokbokki
- Best Kimbap Design
- Best (original) presentation of cooked dishes.
Holding such events at the Faculty of Oriental Studies has become a good tradition. The academic year has just begun, and students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies are waiting for many more interesting events.
