On April 10, 2024, the Department of History of Kazakhstan organized an exhibition of archival documents for students of Ablai Khan University. The exhibition is dedicated to Science Day and the 125th anniversary of Kanysh Satpayev.
Speakers of the event, experts from the department for organizing the use of documents of the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Isaeva N.T., Duysenova G.N., archivist of the 1st category Tazhibaeva gave a lecture on the scientific achievements of K. Satpayev, relevant today, as well as on the importance of science for development of the country.
Satpayev’s whole life, after graduating from the mining department of the Tomsk Technological Institute with a degree in geological exploration, was devoted to the study of mineral resources and the genealogy of ore rocks in Kazakhstan. He left a significant mark not only in geology, but also in the field of culture and history. When the Second World War was coming to an end, despite the difficult situation in the country, the Academy of Sciences of the KazSSR was created. The active participation of K. Satpayev in the organization and further development of the Academy of Sciences testifies to his foresight, characteristic of great people.
The exhibition includes archival documents “Biography of K.I. Satbaev”, “Certificate of completion of the Siberian Technological Institute”, “Diploma work of a student of the mining department of the Tomsk Technological Institute K.I. Satbaev", "Geological research and exploration work, a work diary, which has records of drilling work at the sites of the Kiyakti and Konyrat mines", “the first letter of Taisiya Alekseevna Satbaeva to Kanysh Imantaevich Satbaev”, "From the Resolution of the Central Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan (b) on the approval of K.I. Satbaev for the post of President of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR" and other photographs and memories are presented to the attention of students of Ablai Khan University. We are confident that this exhibition provided students with new data and important information about the history of these documents.
