Uniqueness of the study programme
The aim of the study programmes «7M02311 – Translation Studies», «7M02316 – Simultaneous Interpretation» is oriented to prepare highly-qualified specialists who master written and oral translation and intercultural communication, who can think critically, who is able to manage development of science and technology in translation studies, to analyze and professionally solve topical translation problems, who knows professional competencies. The programme trains researchers in the sphere of theory, practice and methodology of translation, who are able to solve translation issues applying contemporary research methods.
Uniqueness of the profession is related to:
- student-centered education, all taught disciplines are of a practical nature and have a practical translation orientation;
- the program is carried out entirely in English;
- the teaching staff of the study programme has international experience in teaching and conducting research;
- the possibility of attending special courses and receiving personal advice from foreign scientists, invited visiting foreign lecturers;

The additional advantage of the study programme is to train specialists\translators from English into Kazakh\Russian, and from English into Oriental languages, vice-versa.

Graduates of MA degree on Translation Studies, Simultaneous Interpretation can work in all spheres and be needed. The key types of professional activities:
1) translation (translation of multi-genre texts and documents, interpretation of negotiations, international meetings, conferences);
2) organizational (organization and conduct of various events, creation of professional and public organizations);
3) production and management (management and/or fulfillment of professional duties (various types of translation) in the divisions of domestic, foreign and joint ventures and organizations);
4) scientific-research (collection and processing of practical material, preparation of reports and articles, projects on the problems of translation studies and intercultural communication);
5) pedagogical (teaching language disciplines, teaching disciplines of practical translation of various professional discourses)
6) field (translator in organizations of the economic, legal, medical, industrial, information spheres of activity)
