Almaty, November 29 – December 3, 2024 – The Korean Studies Center at Abylai Khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages successfully held the 6th Korean Studies Week. The event featured the 14th Central Asian Korean Studies Olympiad and the 9th Conference of Young Korean Studies Researchers from the CIS. Additionally, a series of guest lectures was organized, focusing on the history of Korea, the development of its society, economic aspects, inter-Korean relations, the history of Koreans in Russia’s Far East and their fate, as well as the timely topic of employment in Korean companies.

On December 3, the event "Great Personalities of the Great Steppe" was a deeply meaningful, informative, and particularly moving evening. The event was organized by the Faculty of Political Science and Law. Participants presented engaging presentations, videos, theatrical performances, and musical numbers dedicated to prominent historical figures of Kazakhstan, as well as talented young contemporaries. The program highlighted the significance of the country's cultural and historical heritage, inspiring both participants and the audience to honor the past and strive for future achievements.

On November 29 and 30 this year, the 6th Week of Korean Studies organized by the Center of Korean Studies of Abylai Khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages (hereinafter KazUIR&WL) in cooperation with Chunan University of the Republic of Korea was held at the KazUIR&WL. The Korean Studies Week is one of the largest events held annually by the Center for Korean Studies at KazUIR&WL to enhance the exchange of knowledge and ideas among young researchers of Korean Studies.

Students of KazUIR&WL named after Ablai Khan Asylbekov Beksultan and Yesenaly Nariman, studying in the educational programs "International Law", under the guidance of Associate Professor of the International Law Department Meermanova Zhuldyz Bazarbekovna took part in the 2nd International Competition "Nuremberg Trials and Modern International Law", organized by the educational institution of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus, the International University "MITSO" on November 26-29, 2024 in Minsk, Belarus.

From November 25 to November 29, 2024, as part of the academic mobility program, the Department of Physical Education at the Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages organized and conducted methodological and practical sessions for special medical groups. The sessions were led by Saule Zhumabayevna Syzdykova, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences and Associate Professor at the Research Institute of Preventive Medicine named after Academician E. Dalenov (Non-Profit JSC "Astana Medical University").

On November 29, 2024, a 3rd-year student of the EP "Foreign Philology (Chinese Language)" of the Faculty of Oriental Studies Kabiden Shakhizada took 2nd place in the Ⅳ Republican Vocal Competition of Chinese Songs "In the Clouds of the Silk Road - 2024", held at the Confucius Institute at the K. Zhubanov ARSU. Students from KazUIR&WL named after Ablai Khan and KazNU named after Al-Farabi participated in the Republican Vocal Competition from Almaty.

From November 26 to 29, our university’s delegation visited Khon Kaen University (Thailand) and participated in the 5th Board of Directors Meeting of the Confucius Institute, held in collaboration with Southwest University (China).

On November 28, 2024, a seminar on "Modern political and economic trends and investment attractiveness of Kazakhstan" was held at the Ablai Khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages.

On November 28, 2024, at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages named after Ablai Khan, a knowledge contest “Biz Türkçe Öğreniyoruz” was held among students of the EP “Foreign Philology” and “Training of teachers of two foreign languages”, aimed at increasing students' interest in the Turkish language. The competition, organized under the guidance of the teacher of the Department of Eastern Philology Suleimenova Zh.M., consisted of five rounds. The event was attended by Associate Professor Ahmet Karaman from Afyon Kocatepe University, Head of the Department of Eastern Philology G.J. Burkitbai, PhD Yurdakul Yalchyn, professor Aliyev G.A., teachers of the Department of Eastern Philology.
