On May 6, 2024, the results of the annual competition of scientific research works of students of higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the EP "Oriental Studies" were summed up at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The main purpose of the SRWS competition is to stimulate research and educational and cognitive activities of students; to attract and support talented students. This competition, which covered the period February-May 2024, was attended by 2nd-4th year students of the EP "Oriental Studies" of Oriental studies faculty Kulzhabayeva Gauhar, Serikbolova Aruna, Alkhan Zerayim, Askarbayeva Aruzhan.

At the Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages named after Abylay Khan, on May 3, 2024, a meeting was held for master students, undergraduates and teaching staff of the Faculty of International Relations, Law and Business with members of the Supreme Judicial Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yernar Nurlanovich Begaliev and Aidyn Maratovich Nurbekov.

On April 29-30 and May 2-3, 2024, the XVI Republican Olympiad on the educational program "Oriental Studies" was held in the sections of Arabic studies, Turkology, Chinese studies, Korean studies and Japanese studies.

AU students as Pedagogical Faculty of Foreign Languages students Karlybay Kuanysh, Toishy Tansholpan, Rakhimzhanova Sevinch, Markhmad Aiym, Satybaldy Amina; student of the Faculty of Translation and Philology Maratkyzy Shalkyma and student of the Faculty of Management and International Communications Zhaukebaeva Ayaulym became the winners of the competition "The Best Student of the Republic of Kazakhstan", receiving a diploma of the first degree. The award was presented within the framework of the Republican Forum "Әділетті Қазақстанның тірегі - адал жастар".

On April 29-30, 2024 at the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University was held the Republican subject Olympiad in the educational program “Oriental Studies (Chinese and Arabic)” among students of higher educational institutions. The Olympiad was attended by students of Ablai khan University, L.N. Gumilev Eurasian National University, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. According to the results of the competition, students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Ablai khan University Leila Baizova took 2nd place (Chinese language) and Alina Abdreimova took 3rd place (Arabic language). Congratulations to the winners and teachers!

On April 30, in honor of the Birthday of the great English playwright and poet William Shakespeare, a competition was held among third-year students of our faculty. There were 8 groups among the students, each group conducted an overview of the life and work of the great playwright through a video presentation. A quiz was compiled from the poet's life, an introduction to his work, and the competition ended with an interesting performance.

Ablai Khan University was visited by the delegation of InHolland University of Applied Sciences from the Netherlands! This is a significant event for our educational community, given the long-term fruitful partnership between our universities. We are pleased to note that many of our students have already taken advantage of the opportunity for learning and cultural exchange thanks to the Erasmus+ program.

The festival "Oriental fest 2024" is a cultural event aimed at attracting future applicants to the Faculty of Oriental Studies. The festival is held annually by the Faculty of Oriental Studies with the support of the Center for Korean Studies and the Confucius Institute at KazUIR&WL named after Abylai khan. This year, due to floods in the Western part of Kazakhstan, the event was held at the faculty level. The purpose of the event was to enrich the national arts of the countries of the East, to form the interests of various ethnic groups.

On April 24-26.2024  Students of the Abylaikhan University, in a team of 3 people, participated in the Republican Student Olympiad on the educational program: “Sustainable Marketing: green Strategy challenge” (RSSO organizer - Narxoz University), where teams from 18 universities of Kazakhstan took part. Participants of the Olympiad filmed 2 videos and defended a scientific project on the topic: “Baiterek Environmental Education Center”. The Olympiad was held in 3 languages; our team performed in English.

On April 25-26, the competition program of the 16th Republican subject Olympiad of students in the field of Journalism and Information was held at the Kazakh Main Architectural and Construction Academy. Students from different parts of the country competed for 2 days in a row. The participants solved the case tasks in the 1st round and worked on the text in the 2nd round. The 3rd round continued for half a day shooting reports on a certain topic. Under the guidance of a senior lecturer Zhabaeva Aigerim, students of the journalism specialty - Kunbolat Arman, Zhanseit Saya, Salman Anel, Karash Altynai achieve the 3rd prize place.
