On August 10, the faculty of the Kazakh University named after Ablai Khan, headed by Acting Rector D.A. Kunanbayeva, took part in the ceremony of laying flowers at the monument to Abai Kunanbayev. A large-scale flower-laying ceremony took place in front of the Palace of the Republic, where the largest monument to Abai in Almaty is located.

On July 2, 2025, at the department of international relations of Kazakh Ablai Khan University the International scientific and practical conference was organized and held by the Institute for Philosophy, Political Science, and Religious Studies of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in cooperation with the Council for Research in Values and Philosophy at the Catholic University of America and Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages, on the topic: “Central Asia in the Context of Global Communication: Values Beyond Borders”. The conference was held both in-person and online formats.

On July 1, 2025, a delegation from one of China’s leading publishing corporations – Phoenix Publishing & Media Group, based in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province – paid an official visit to the Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages.

On June 27–28, 2025, the 13th Central Asian Academic Conference on Korean Studies was held in Bishkek (Kyrgyz Republic) under the theme “Korean Studies on the New Silk Road in the Era of Information Technology.” The conference brought together over 150 scholars, researchers, and specialists in Korean studies from seven countries, including Central Asian states, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, and South Korea.

On June 27, 2025, a solemn ceremony of taking the military oath by graduates of the military department was held at the Ablai Khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages. On this significant day, students studying in the specialties of «military translator» and «military journalist» took an oath of allegiance to the Motherland. Taking the military oath is a sacred act symbolizing devotion, responsibility and readiness to serve the Motherland.

The Faculty of Oriental Studies proudly highlights the achievements of its graduates who have attained significant success in the fields of diplomacy and international relations.

On the basis of the Contract on cooperation between Kazakh Ablai Khan UIR&WL and the Ulyanovsk state pedagogical university of I.N. Ulyanov (Russian Federation) professor of department of theoretical and applied linguistics, professor Klara Umirzakovna Kunakova took active part in organization of the VI International competition of research works "My intelligence trajectory" (further - the Competition) which was taking place within November 18, 2024 on June-23, 2025. The competition is aimed at developing the supra-professional skills of students through involving them in research activities and forming an idea of the role of science as a social elevator.

Ulyanovsk State Pedagogical University named after I.N. Ulyanov (Russian Federation) is the organizer of the VI International Competition of Scientific Research Papers “My Intellect-Trajectory” (hereinafter referred to as the Competition). The competition is aimed at developing the interprofessional skills of young students by involving them in research activities and forming an understanding of the role of science as a social lift.

On June 13–14, 2025, the international conference titled “Central Asia in the Focus of Regional Studies” was held at the Northwestern Polytechnical University (PRC). The goal of the event was to create a platform for academic exchange, promote deeper dialogue between experts and scholars from China and the Central Asian countries, and unite intellectual efforts to discuss ways of effective cooperation within the framework of the "One Belt, One Road" initiative.

From May 28 to June 13, 2025, students from Iowa State University, USA, took part in a cultural exchange internship at the Faculty of Translation and Philology of Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages.

In May-June 2025, first-year students (accelerated form of study) of Management and Marketing Department have successfully completed their internship at the Department of State revenues of Almaty.

During the internship, the students got acquainted with the activities of government agencies, gained an understanding of the structure and functions of the State Revenue Department, and expanded their theoretical knowledge by applying it in practice. During the internship, the students took part in the implementation of the current tasks of the department, got acquainted with the document flow, participated in analytical and organizational work.

From May 26 to June 6, 2025, the Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages (Almaty) successfully hosted a professional development course titled "Artificial Intelligence Technologies in Working with Texts" (72 hours). Organized by the Department of Information and Communication Technologies, the course became part of a university-wide initiative aimed at integrating digital and intelligent technologies into the field of humanities education.

Every year on this day, we honor the symbols that reflect the independence, unity, and rich history of our country. It was on June 4, 1992, that the State Flag, State Emblem, and National Anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan were officially adopted — the three main symbols of our statehood.

Students of the educational program "6B04202 – International Law" Asilbekov B., Yesenali N., and Imasheva A. under the supervision of Associate Professor of the Department of International Law Bulekbaeva R.U. successfully participated in the First International Youth Legal Forum, which took place on May 30–31, 2025, at the Tashkent State University of Law with the support of the Central Asia Universities Debate Championship. Based on the results of the forum, our students, having demonstrated a high level of knowledge, emerged as winners and were honored with two top nominations: for outstanding team spirit and the title of “Ethically Committed Legal Professionals.”

From May 27 to 31, 2025, the delegation of Abylai Khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages took part in the Jiangsu–Central Asia TVET-Industry Integration Forum held in Nanjing, China.
The goal of the visit was to deepen cooperation in vocational education, participate in the “Zheng He Academy” initiative, and sign an agreement on co-publishing Chinese language textbooks in Kazakhstan.
Acting University Chairman of the Board - Rector Dr. Dana Kunabaeva delivered a keynote address on Chinese language education in Kazakhstan and signed a cooperation agreement. During the forum, the localized Kazakh version of the textbook "Chinese for Business Purposes" was introduced by its co-developers: Tolkyn Kalibekuly, Kulpynay Duisenbay, and Madina Sabirova – dedicated educators who contributed to cross-cultural academic exchange.

On May 28, 2025, a festive event was held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University dedicated to the presentation and installation of the electronic reading screen of the leading Chinese newspaper «Zhengming Jibao». From our university in the opening ceremony took part the dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies Kagasbayeva E.M., Deputy. Director of the Confucius Institute, Mr Yang Kun, teachers of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Aizhan Khunshan and Hu Hongyu, as well as our volunteer students.

On May 28, 2025, a seminar by Professor Jesús García Laborda from the University of Alcalá (Spain) was held at Ablai Khan KazUIR&WL on the topic: "What to know about publishing in high impact journals."
