During the visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev to the People's Republic of China, a monument to the philosopher and scientist of the Middle Ages Abu Nasir Al-Farabi was unveiled at the Beijing University of Language and Culture. The ceremony was attended by doctoral students, undergraduates and students studying at the Beijing University of Language and Culture. The Head of State met and talked with Kazakhstani students and undergraduates studying in China.  Among these undergraduates is a graduate of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages named after Abylai Khan, majoring in Translation, winner of the 1st contest "Chinese language-bridge" Zhanarbekova Dilnaz Shalkarovna.

On 19-20 October Nazarbayev University hosted the 12th Eurasian Conference of Academic Libraries "Education 5.0: Challenges and Prospects for Academic Libraries", organised jointly with the Association of University Libraries of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Nazarbayev University Library.

On October 13, 2023, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey, the “Dilmar” club of the Department of Eastern Philology, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Ablai khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages, organized a guest lecture by doctor, professor, director of the Institute of Social Sciences, Mr. Mustafa Demirci from Selcuk University Republic of Turkey on the theme “Türk Dünyasında Yeni Bir Rönesansın İmkanları”.

A competition "The expressive reading of poems and words of edification of Abai in Chinese, Kazakh and Russian languages" among students of Universities in Almaty was held on October 13, 2023 by the Confucius Institute at KazUWL and IR after Abylai Khan. 20 students from such educational institutions as Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Kazakh National Women Pedagogical University, the International Kazakh-Chinese Language College and Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages after Abylai Khan took part in this competition which is being held for the 5th time.

2023 On October 13 at 14:30, in the assembly hall of educational building No. 2, an event was held in honor of the European Day of Languages, organized by the Department of Romance Languages of the Faculty of Translation and Philology.

On October 11, 2023, the Department of Kazakh Philology and the Center for the Development of the State Language of the Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages organized an interfaculty competition among 1st year students of the Russian department “Мен жастарға сенемін!” dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the birth of M. Zhumabaev and for the holiday “Languages of the Peoples of Kazakhstan”. The goal is to promote the life and work of poets in connection with the 130th anniversary of the birth of M. Zhumabayev, to teach how to recite expressively, to respect the poet-writer Magzhan, the leader of the Alash movement, who became the pride of the Kazakh country, to teach patriotism and beauty using the example of his works.

11.10.2023 Center for Korean Studies Ablai khan KazUIR and WL, with the support of the Education Center at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Kazakhstan, held a Korean Cuisine Day, within the framework of which a competition was organized for the preparation of Korean dishes popular among young people: kimbap and tteokbokki. About 65 3rd and 4th year students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies studying Korean took part in the competition.

On October 10, 2023, the Department of International Law, in order to implement the state socially significant project of the Akimat of the city of Almaty on the topic: “Carrying out a set of activities to resolve disputes and popularize the institution of mediation”, together with the Public Foundation “Center “Social project management”, held a guest lecture. Lecturer A trainer-mediator of international class is a head of the RPO “International Human Rights Center”, General Director of the ALE “Association of Mediators of Kazakhstan” Zhakupov Zhangeldy Azhigalievich.

Almaty, 10.10.2023 - KazUIR&WL named after Abylai Khan, held a meeting aimed at preparing graduate students for the requirements of the modern labor market of translators. The organizers of the event were the founders of the platform MANSAP, 3rd year students of the Department of Simultaneous Interpretation, Smagul Asem and Salibai Aruzhan, as well as a teacher and coordinator of student employment department, Chitebayeva Sandugash Zhumagalievna.

07.10.2022 - Bachelor's and Master's degree students and teachers of the Department of Simultaneous Interpretation of the Faculty of Translation and Philology performed simultaneous interpretation of the VI Central Asian International Forum on Quality Assurance in Education. Their professionalism was highly recognized, for which they were awarded letters of appreciation from the Independent Accreditation and Rating Agency (IARA).

Hangul is the Korean alphabet, created in 1446 by order of King Sejong. This is the recognized cultural heritage of the country and its special pride.

On October 6, the Center for Korean Studies of Ablai khan KazUIR and WL traditionally held a forum for students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies dedicated to the 577th anniversary of the creation of the Korean alphabet, which is celebrated in the Republic of Korea on October 9 and is a national holiday.

Every year on September 30, the world celebrates International Translator’s Day to recognize the importance of professionals who play a key role in promoting understanding between different cultures and languages. The Faculty of Translation and Philology of Kazakh Ablai khan University of International Relations and World Languages is no exception. On this day, students and teachers of the Faculty gathered together to celebrate this significant day and share their passion for world languages and cultures.

Associate Professor of  the Department of  International Communications Madina Ashilova  became the hero of the Kazak Book of  Records KIEG-2023, setting a record in conducting the first automobile round-the-world trip aimed at popularizing Kazakhstan abroad.

At the beginning of the academic year by the publishing house "Polylingua" of the Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages Abylai Khan published 7 textbooks prepared by teachers of the Department of Kazakh Philology, using modern teaching technologies and creative methods of teaching the Kazakh language.

26.09.2023 - From 26 to 28 September 2023 in Almaty in the National Scientific Center for Seismological Observation and Research was held XI Kazakhstan-China International Symposium "Earthquake Forecasting, Seismic Hazard and Seismic Risk Assessment in Central Asia".

On September 27, 2023, an event dedicated to the Day of Confucius Institutes, which is celebrated annually on the occasion of Confucius’s birthday, was held at the KazUIR and WL named after Abylai Khan.

On 27 September 2023, the Confucius Institute at KazUIR and WL named after Abylai Khan held an event dedicated to the Day of Confucius Institutes, which is celebrated on the birthday of the ancient Chinese thinker and philosopher Confucius.  The theme of the event was: "Confucius Institutes, good partners in learning Chinese language".

On September 22, 2023, students of Translation and Philology Faculty, together with the Vice Dean Zyryanov V.K. watched a play “Anna Karenina” at the Kazakh National Drama Theatre named after M. Auezov”.

Uralbayev Samat Salamatovich, senior lecturer, head of the Department of Oriental Studies of Kazakh Ablai Khan University, participated in the international training "Peace and Conflicts" at the Bishkek Academy of the European Security and Cooperation Organization on September 17-22 and developed his theoretical and practical skills. He was awarded a full financial scholarship of the OSCE Academy. The international certificate training was organized by the OSCE Academy, CRISP (Crisis Simulation for Peace) and the Institute for Peace and Development, and 20 young professionals from Central Asia and Afghanistan participated in the training.

On September 22, our university held a seminar with the regional representative of EBSCO in Kazakhstan Alexander Rytov. The topic of the seminar was "EBSCO electronic resources for use in scientific and educational process". The seminar was attended by teachers, doctoral students, master's students and undergraduate students.  The seminar includes two parts: the first part is devoted to the review of EBSCO electronic resources. During the second part, EBSCO host platforms were demonstrated, methods of searching and working with scientific information were considered.
