Almaty, April 25, 2025 — Ablai Khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages, in collaboration with Kazakhstan's leading exhibition company ITECA, held the business project competition “I CHOOSE TOURISM!” The event was dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Edward Strachan, the founder and first director of ITECA LLP.

On April 24–25, 2025, the Republican Subject Olympiad was held at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The event was organized by the Department of Far East Studies and focused on the educational program “6B02301 – Translation Studies (Eastern Languages)” with a specialization in the Korean language.

From April 22 to April 25, 2025, fourth-year students of the educational program "6B03101 – International Relations" at Abylai Khan KazUIR&WL took part in a series of educational and scientific events at the Presidential Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The visit was organized under the guidance of senior lecturers of the Department of International Relations, Abdrazakova L.N. and Ilimkozha A.E.

By invitation of Zhetysu State University, the student team «Leader» from the educational program «6B04103 - Management and Marketing» - Yaroslav Kholosha (2nd year), Nurken Kusainov (2nd year), and Nuray Abdykul (3rd year) — from the Faculty of Management and International Communications of the Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages named after Abylai Khan, under the supervision of Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor of the «Department of Management and Marketing», Galiya Kabidoldayevna Kishibekova, took part in the Republican Scientific and Practical Conference «Zhansugurov Readings».The team successfully presented a scientific project that was awarded a 1st Degree Diploma, as well as scientific reports that received 1st and 2nd Degree Diplomas.

On April 24, the Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages hosted a meeting with Factcheck.kz co-founder Yerzhan Gabdullin and journalist Margarita Bocharova. The event focused on one of the most pressing issues in today's media landscape: media literacy and the identification of fake news.

On April 23, 2025, a large-scale festive event dedicated to National Book Day was held at the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty. This cultural event became a spiritual occasion highlighting the significance of books in human civilization and their timeless and universal value.

On April 23, 2025, the university hosted a meeting with representatives of the international hotel chain Marriott International. The event was attended by Alexander Sell, General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Almaty, along with the HR Directors of four Marriott hotels: The Ritz-Carlton, Almaty; The Ritz-Carlton, Astana; Sheraton Astana; and The St. Regis Astana.

On April 21–22, 2025, the XVII Republican Subject Olympiad in the field of “Journalism and Information” was held in Astana at Maqsut Narikbayev University. This prestigious competition brought together 19 teams from across Kazakhstan.

On April 21, 2025, the Academy of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted an intellectual competition among higher education institutions, dedicated to the linguocultural and country-specific features of the United States and the United Kingdom.

On April 19, 2025, the Department of International Law held the City Olympiad "Legal Marathon" among graduates of Almaty colleges, which allowed participants to demonstrate their theoretical and practical legal knowledge, leadership qualities and creativity in solving current legal problems. The 3-year students studying at the Law College, College of KazNU named after Al-Farabi, Almaty Technological, Financial and Innovative Technical College attended the Olympiad.

Deputy Akim of Almaty city Kaldybekov Azamat Beskempirovich presented jubilee medals to the 30th anniversary of Assembly of Peoples of Kazakhstan by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The solemn awarding ceremony was held in the walls of the akimat of Almaty.

On April 18, 2025, a Korean language oratory contest was held at the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University.

First- and second-year students of the Korean language program under the "Foreign Philology" educational program from the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Ablai Khan Ablai khan KazUIR&WL participated in the event. The contestants showcased their skills and impressed both the audience and the jury with their performances.

On April 18, 2025 the third-year students of the «Foreign Philology» program held a creative meeting with the renowned writer Yuri Serebryansky. During the event, the author spoke about his creative journey, presented his books, and shared stories behind their creation.

On April 18, 2025, the Department of Methodology of Foreign Language Education at Kazakh Abylai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages hosted the 1st Republican Scientific and Practical Conference titled “Modern Foreign Language Education in Kazakhstan: Experience, Innovations, and Prospects.” The event brought together foreign language teachers, researchers, methodologists, and master’s students from across the country.

April 17 in the 100th anniversary of the State Prize laureate, member of the Union of writers of the USSR and Kazakhstan, member of the Academic Council E.A.Buketov among students of the 2nd year of the IRF and Faculty of Menedjment and International Communication held a competition of speakers «Do you know how to speak in public?», organized by the Department of Kazakh philology KazIRandWLU .named Abylai khan сandidate of ped.sciences, assoc.prof. Nurmysheva Sh.A., Master of Ped.sciences, senior teacher Khamimuldinova L.Zh., сandidate of ped.sciences, associate prof.Akysh B. O. The purpose of the meeting was the development of public figures, the development of ideas, the system, the argumentation of their ideas, the development of critical thinking, the hope of the public with the audience.

Dariga Mashay, a 4th-year student of the Journalism program of the Faculty of Management and International Communications of KazIR&WL named after Ablai Khan, took part in the II Central Asian Media Forum, which was held in Astana on April 16-17, 2025. The forum brought together politicians, journalists, representatives of media companies, international organizations and authoritative experts from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Great Britain, China, Qatar, Russia and other countries.

 On April 17, 2025, an off-site lecture was organized and held at the all-season mountain resort “Oi-Qaragai” for students of Group 102, majoring in “Restaurant and Hotel Business” as part of the course “Infrastructure in Restaurant and Hotel Business” under the guidance of Zamanbekova Altynshash Bulatovna.

In order to increase the level of anti-corruption awareness of citizens and prevent corruption in the public environment, on April 17, 2025, the Department of International Law of JSC "Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages" organized a guest lecture on the topic: "Corruption is a key problem in society" with the support of the Public Foundation "Parasatty Urpak Ushin" within the framework of the project implementation "Almaty-Adaldyk Alany".

On April 16, 2025, the Department of Eastern Philology of the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Abylai Khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages, in cooperation with the A. Baitursynuly Institute of Linguistics, held the International Scientific and Practical Round Table titled “The Importance of Eastern Language Sources in Turkological Research.”
